A Cat in Ghost Town

Story

Sophie sees her cat Leila going through the mirror in her bedroom. Sophie follows Leila and meets an alternate version of her older brother Damien who panicks when he sees her. Scared by that unexpected encounter, Sophie returns through the mirror and warns the real Damien about what she saw. Damien joins Sophie and they both get through the mirror one more time. Where is Leila? Are the people from the parallel world hostile?

Context

This RPG was created during a jam on rpgmaker.net named Kill the Cutie in October 2020. The mission was to build a game which contrasts something cute and innocent with something dark and creepy.

In 2022, I'd like to improve this game. More custom assets, more interesting plot, more gameplay elements.

Main gameplay element: difficulty

A character will ask you if he can change the difficulty between 4 levels. The difficulty is the key to progress. An easier level means easier monster battles, but less interesting loot. A harder level implies greater loots but more risky fights. Look at your stats and deduce what difficulty level would be the best for you.
